ABIDE - DAY 10

Hope can be a resting place for the flesh…
Remember; Hope can be defined as “joyful, confident expectation and desire for a certain thing”
Let’s read:
Psalms 16: 1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. 2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” 3 As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.
5 O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. 6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.
7 I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. 10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
David was a man that had many different challenges in his life. Some of them were his own fault and some were not. As time went on, David got to know God better and better. Not just who He was but also His character. When you know someone that close, you know what they will do in certain situations and circumstances. With the life that David lead, this was a necessity! There were times when David just needed to sit back and not do anything but let God be God.
Most of us have been taught that when circumstances go bad, we need to just put our heads down and work, work, work until things are fixed. Sometimes this is true. However, there are others times when Papa just wants us to sit back and rest while He handles everything.
Take a minute and ask Papa: Is there an area in my life that I have been working hard at that you want me to just sit back and rest in?
If He shows you an area. Ask Him, what resting in that situation looks like for you.
We are to ABIDE in this place of closeness with Him to where we understand when its time to work, and when its time to rest.

I know that my character is such that when something needs fixing my first thought is to try and figure out how I can change it or fix it. I will get frantic with worry and stress Until fear sets in and I'm no good for anything. I know God is able and I know He sees all things that I don't but I allow myself to get weak in my flesh and cave into the fear proving to the enemy that I'm not trusting enough. How much simpler it would be if I just learn to go to the alter of my remembrances and reflect on all that Jesus has accomplished for me. He never fails! I've never come up with an answer that outweighed His ever. We need to do what was written here and just ask Him how to rest in Him while we wait for victory.
