ABIDE - DAY 7

Faith in the Storm
Let’s Read
Luke 7
22 Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. 23 But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. 24 And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”
Notice the scripture says that “He got in the boat with His disciples and said Let’s cross over”. It was His idea!
Now more than ever God is calling us to a deeper place with Him. The events of this world are unfolding in front of our very eyes and He calling us to walk in a way that brings His love for people to the forefront of dire circumstances. Some people believe in “darker and darker” eschatology (study of end times) that states this world will get really really bad and then God will come. I personally do not believe this. I believe that when the world gets darker, the brighter we shine! (Isaiah 60).
There are going to be times that He calls us to go certain places, or do certain things, and we will run into hard situations along the way. In those places, our faith in Him is what will carry us through.
This is the faith that Jesus was asking the disciples about. Where is it? This is also the faith that He is looking for in us…
Luke 18:8 …when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
It's the place we are to ABIDE in. Faith that will carry us through any storm that we may face knowing that He is with us and will never leave!
